Fostering Effective Relationships
A teacher builds positive and productive
relationships with students, parents/guardians,
peers and others in the school and local
community to support student learning.

Acting consistently with fairness, respect
and integrity; Within my practicum classroom, I have built many relationships with each of the students. They all love being my partner for reading, and asking for my help in math or writing lessons.

Pictured is a gift received from one of the students on valentines day.

The student was extremely excited to show me the present they got, and asked me multiple times if I loved it. This was an extremely solidifying moment for me, it demonstrated that I am doing something right, I am creating bonds with these children that I never imagined I would.

Demonstrating empathy and a genuine caring for others; In my practicum, I built many great relationships with all of the students. I created special bonds with each of them, and took the time to understand each of their hobbies and activities.

Pictured is the card I received on my last day in the classroom, it was an extremely emotional and heartfelt moment.

The students were extremely excited to surprise me with the card, and all came up to me to give me a hug and a final goodbye before I left. Those students have had a huge impact on my life, and have made me fall even more in love with teaching.

Providing culturally appropriate and meaningful opportunities for students and for parents/guardians, as partners in education, to support student learning; In my 3rd year practicum my mentor teacher used Seesaw in the classroom. This is a great site for students to upload work that is also visible by their families!

Pictured is an activity I created for my students to do on Seesaw after one of our science lessons.

Afer students handed in their work, parents are able to go in and see how their child is doing on the topics we are working on.
