Teaching blogs can be used for many reasons. Mr. Hill uses his blog to share his goals, achievements, and the things he learns along his teaching journey in Hong Kong. Having a wide variety of posts in your blog could be extremely beneficial for your viewers, and can make them come back to your page more often. I also think that having personal updates (Hill’s most recent one is about becoming a principal) can create a feeling of community. It allows the readers to get to know the writer. This can also be used as a way to keep track of your journey. I found this blog to be very welcoming. It is extremely organized and easy to use, which allows for a better experience! Bethany Petty’s blog focuses on tools for teachers to use in the classroom, incorporating technology into the classroom. I think that having a blog like this is extremely useful! Technology is becoming more common in classrooms so having people share what works for them can be extremely helpful for new teachers, or ones who may not have much experience with technology. I also enjoy how at the beginning of each post, she gives a brief update on her life before getting into the tools. This can also create that feeling of community, making the posts feel more personal. Jose Vilson is an author, educator and speaker. He brings up very real, and very important issues in his blog posts. He talks about inequalities, race, guns, and much more. This blog can be extremely useful for other educators to see different perspectives on these issues. Throughout his posts, he gets very open and honest. He brings up his feelings and emotions in these situations. Seeing where other people succeeded or struggled in the classroom can help you in your classroom. It can allow you to tweak and change the ideas for what works for you. It can also be extremely useful to see other perspectives on the unfortunate real issues that are happening around us.

Hi Neleh! I love the insight you provided especially on Jose Vilson's blog. His blog sounds super intriguing and I am definitely going to check his blog out later! I agree with the importance of issues like inequality, especially in a modern-day classroom! I'm curious if you can create resources around Vilsons ideas. Super thoughtful ideas!
